Baker Lead

Position Overview

This role involves the preparation of breads and pastries by making doughs, fillings, proofing, baking, and decoration in line with daily production requirements. The individual will review production sheets to understand the variety of baked goods needed each day and ensure food preparation follows recipes, quality standards, and presentation requirements. The role also includes maintaining kitchen logs to ensure compliance with food safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook baked goods as per defined recipes and quality guidelines.
• Monitor food preparation quality and portion sizes during the shift.
• Maintain compliance with food safety handling policies and personal hygiene standards.
• Use baking equipment and measuring tools safely and according to best practices.
• Maintain communication with the Chef regarding excess food for daily specials planning.
• Ensure correct food and equipment temperatures and report any issues to management.
• Assist management in staff recruitment, training, scheduling, evaluation, counseling, discipline, motivation, and coaching.
• Act as a role model for the team, ensuring adherence to company policies, safety, and security measures.
• Maintain a professional appearance and confidentiality of proprietary information.
• Develop positive working relationships and handle sensitive matters with respect and discretion.
• Perform physical tasks such as lifting/moving objects up to 25 pounds and operating in varied physical postures.
• Fulfill additional tasks as assigned by supervisors.

Preferred Qualifications

• Technical, trade, or vocational school degree in a related area.
• A minimum of two years’ experience in a similar bakery role.
• No prior supervisory experience is required.
• No specific licenses or certifications required.
