Backend Engineer

About the Role

As a Backend Engineer at CodeRound AI, you will design and implement scalable backend systems and APIs that serve our AI-driven products and platforms. You will collaborate closely with our machine learning engineers to deliver robust, production-level software solutions.

Responsibilities

• Develop backend services primarily using Python, with a preference for FastAPI framework.
• Create RESTful APIs and backend architectures that are scalable and reliable.
• Manage databases such as PostgreSQL and caching systems like Redis.
• Utilize message queues to ensure efficient asynchronous processing.
• Deploy and maintain applications using Docker containers and orchestrate them with Kubernetes.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code ready for production environments.
• Work collaboratively across machine learning and product development teams.

Requirements

• Between 4 to 7 years of professional experience in backend engineering.
• Proficient in Python programming and experienced with FastAPI, Flask, or Django frameworks.
• Solid grasp of fundamental computer science concepts including data structures and algorithms, database management systems, operating systems, and networking principles.
• Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL database and Redis caching solutions.
• Experience designing and developing scalable backend architectures.
• Familiarity with containerization using Docker and orchestration using Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.

Additional Preferred Qualifications

• Background in building or supporting AI/ML related products.
• Experience with message brokers like Kafka, RabbitMQ, or task queues such as Celery.
• Exposure to real-time communication technologies such as WebSockets or gRPC.
• Use of monitoring and observability tools including Prometheus and Grafana.
• Experience working in startup or rapidly growing company environments.
• Contributions to open-source projects.
