Role Overview

The Auto Body Prepper plays a crucial role in preparing vehicles for a high-quality paint finish. Responsibilities include sanding, masking, priming, and prepping vehicles following insurance standards, collaborating with team members to meet facility KPIs, and ensuring superior workmanship.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare vehicle surfaces by masking, priming, and applying topcoats to ensure readiness for painting
• Apply primers, sealers, basecoats, color coats, and clear coats appropriately
• Use hand and power tools to prepare surfaces for painting
• Detect and address dirt or surface imperfections
• Assess bodywork to guarantee quality paint results
• Maintain consistent high-quality and productive work standards to support shop efficiency and customer satisfaction (Net Promoter Score)

Qualifications and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum of 3 years experience as an Auto Body Prepper

Preferred Qualifications

• Completion of post-secondary education in an Auto Body Refinishing program is an asset

Skills and Attributes

• Exceptional attention to detail with precision
• Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment

Additional Requirements

• Capability to frequently bend, crouch, reach, handle tools, and lift up to 50 pounds
• Possession of personal tools
• Valid driver's license

Compensation and Benefits

• Starting pay at $17.75 per hour, commensurate with skills and experience
