Job description
About the Company
This growing and ambitious accountancy firm, located in Dundee, Scotland, has a strong reputation for delivering audit, accounts, and advisory services to a diverse range of clients across Scotland. The organisation is committed to investing in its workforce and fosters a collaborative environment that encourages the development of technical skills and career progression. The team operates as a close-knit local office backed by the resources and opportunities of a larger enterprise, serving owner-managed businesses, charities, and not-for-profit organisations.
Role Overview
As an Audit Senior, you will manage a diverse portfolio of clients, overseeing audit and accounts work from initial planning stages through to completion. Your workload will approximate 70% audit and 30% accounts, providing comprehensive assurance and compliance experience. You will lead statutory audits and independent examinations, including specialised areas such as charity audits and solicitor rules engagements, while supervising and guiding junior team members. Additional duties include preparing statutory accounts, drafting corporation tax returns, and supporting non-audit accounts assignments. Collaboration with Managers and Partners will facilitate further refinement of your technical expertise and client relationship management.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will have prior experience in an accountancy practice, hold an ACA, ACCA, or AAT qualification or be part-qualified or have equivalent experience. Candidates with various levels of audit experience are welcome, provided they possess a solid foundation in accounts preparation and corporate tax compliance within a practice setting. Strong communication and organisational skills are essential, along with the ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines. Familiarity with software such as CCH Audit Automation, CCH Accounts, Xero, Sage, and Microsoft Office is beneficial but not mandatory, as training will be provided. A proactive and adaptable attitude and a genuine interest in career growth within a progressive firm are important.
Benefits and Opportunities
The firm offers a competitive salary package and a supportive working atmosphere. There is substantial opportunity for career advancement and professional development within a forward-thinking and expanding organisation. Exposure to a wide client base and close working relationships with senior leadership provide a valuable platform to broaden your expertise across audit, accounts, and taxation.
Additional Information
If interested, candidates are encouraged to apply promptly with an up-to-date CV or to initiate a confidential conversation regarding career options.
