Associate PAYE Intermediary Specialist

About the Role

As an Associate PAYE Intermediary (PI) Specialist, you will provide vital support in managing the PAYE Intermediary Trust Account, Pay Early Trust Account, and Payday Filing procedures with the Inland Revenue Department (IRD). Under close supervision, your duties will include processing transactions, maintaining precise records, reconciling trust accounts, and assisting clients on PAYE and Pay Early related inquiries.

This role is crucial in ensuring payroll data and financial transactions are executed accurately, compliantly, and on schedule while collaborating closely with payroll support teams serving over 30,000 Datapay and Smartly customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with administration and reconciliation tasks for the PAYE Intermediary and Pay Early Trust Accounts.
• Handle client registrations, account linking, and onboarding processes.
• Manage both manual and automated payments through trust accounts.
• Monitor, verify, and reconcile transactions to ensure correctness and completion.
• Prepare and balance tax information associated with PAYE Intermediary services and Pay Early transactions.
• Oversee data exchange between payroll systems and IRD to maintain data accuracy and timeliness.
• Support Payday Filing activities and help resolve any filing discrepancies.
• Communicate with clients to address queries or issues regarding trust account transactions and payroll tax processing.
• Coordinate with IRD to investigate and solve data or transaction-related problems.
• Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to compliance and operational policies.
• Contribute to fostering continuous improvement and operational excellence in the team.

Qualifications and Skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Effective problem-solving aptitude with capability to investigate and resolve discrepancies.
• Competent in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Previous experience in payroll, finance, accounts administration, reconciliations, or similar operations is advantageous.
• Knowledge or understanding of PAYE, IRD processes, payroll systems, or tax related transactions is beneficial.
