The Database Hosting Team within Platform Hosting Services under Aladdin Platform Engineering upholds the reliability, stability, and performance of key financial systems across the globe.

- Manage OLTP and OLAP systems catering to transactional and analytical tasks.
- Maintain data warehousing and distributed platforms suited for large-scale data processing.
- Implement replication and high availability strategies to ensure resilience and continuity of business operations.
Role Overview
The Associate in Database Hosting engages in global operations and engineering strategies supporting mission-critical database platforms such as Aladdin and other financial systems. Key focuses include collaborating on automation and innovation to scale familiar operations over hybrid environments (on-premises and cloud), alongside championing performance tuning, security measures, and compliance adherence to evolving regulatory standards.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide deep operational support for administration and engineering of OLTP, OLAP, data warehousing, and NoSQL distributed platforms.
- Ensure uninterrupted 24x7 availability and robustness for international investment systems.
- Enhance operational scale through advanced automation frameworks and customized tooling, utilizing Large Language Model (LLM) tools such as Windsurf and Copilot for improved monitoring and maintenance using Python, Perl, and Java.
- Promote DevOps methodologies for database deployment and continuous system monitoring.
- Collaborate strategically with infrastructure, application, and business units across various regions to deliver seamless service and influence technological directions and architecture decisions.
Required Qualifications and Expertise
- Educational background preferably with a Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline.
- Professional experience includes at least 4 years in enterprise database administration and engineering, with 2 or more years in software engineering and experience with LLM/AI tools considered advantageous.
- Technical proficiencies spanning one or more of the following: Sybase ASE/IQ, Microsoft SQL Server, Snowflake, distributed NoSQL storage like Cosmos DB.
- Expertise in replication technologies including Sybase Replication, MSSQL High Availability, and HVR/Fivetran.
- Cloud platform familiarity with Azure, AWS, and GCP.
- Automation and DevOps skills including Python, Perl, Java, Go, Windsurf, Copilot, Ansible/AWX, Git, and Azure DevOps.
- Operating system experience with Linux and Windows, highlighting advanced shell scripting and system performance analysis.
- Approach characterized by problem-solving, dedication to automation, operational excellence, ongoing learning, and data-informed decision-making.
