Role Summary

We are seeking a skilled Database Administrator to design, deploy, optimize, and manage enterprise-level cloud database platforms. This role focuses on implementing multi-cloud architectures leveraging Alibaba Cloud and AWS to ensure high availability, superior performance, and cost efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage comprehensive database operations including backup and recovery, continuous monitoring and alerting, performing health checks, capacity planning, lifecycle management, release support, and documentation, aligned with business needs for stability and availability.
• Enhance database reliability and performance through techniques such as SQL tuning, index optimization, schema evaluation, workload and slow-query analyses, and diagnosing root causes during production incidents.
• Enforce database security measures encompassing access controls, privilege reviews, audit logging, encryption, data masking, addressing vulnerabilities, and maintaining security standards.
• Maintain and validate backup and disaster recovery strategies including RPO/RTO planning, restoration drills, cross-region replication, failover testing, and emergency recovery protocols.
• Lead database migrations, scaling, sharding, read/write splitting, and high availability deployments for critical systems.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or related discipline, with over 4 years of experience managing databases and at least 2 years working on cloud platforms such as Alibaba Cloud or AWS.
• Expertise in relational, NoSQL, and distributed database systems, including the implementation of high-availability frameworks in production environments.
• In-depth knowledge of leading database engine internals and strong skills in database design, capacity planning, and architectural governance.
• Proficient in performance tuning and optimization for databases handling high concurrency and large datasets. Extensive hands-on with MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redis, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, HBase, and Kafka.
• Solid Linux/Unix administration capabilities with programming skills in Python and Shell scripting; familiarity with Perl or PHP is advantageous.
