Job Summary
The Assistant Store Manager in Kingsville will lead and inspire the store team to deliver exceptional customer service and help pet owners find suitable nutrition and products for their animals. This role offers opportunities for management training and career growth within a pet-focused retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure all customer service standards are met and foster positive relationships within the local community, including organizations like the Humane Society.
- Lead and manage store employees, including recruitment, scheduling, training, daily task assignment, supervision, and coaching.
- Maintain adherence to corporate operational standards and procedures across all staff.
- Oversee administrative duties such as coordinating orders, managing inventory, completing store and safety audits, organizing minor repairs, and handling corporate paperwork.
- Drive teamwork and store efforts to accomplish business targets and goals.
- Perform additional duties and tasks as assigned to support store operations.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- At least two years of experience in customer service and managing retail store operations.
- A passion for learning and willingness to develop knowledge in the pet care industry.
- Friendly and outgoing personality with excellent customer service abilities.
- Availability to work shifts including weekends and evenings to meet scheduling needs.
- Reliable transportation to and from the store location.
- Competence in providing coaching and feedback to employees to improve sales and customer service.
- Ability to recognize and appropriately escalate inter-team conflicts.
- Familiarity with using point-of-sale (POS) systems.
- Physical capability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly.
- Previous experience in the pet care industry considered a strong plus.
