Role Overview
The Assistant Store Manager plays a vital role in supporting the Store Manager with all daily retail operations, ensuring excellent customer experiences, and meeting sales objectives. This position takes charge as the Manager on Duty when the Store Manager is not present.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Store Manager in managing store operations and supervising staff.
- Assist with merchandising product displays, stock replenishment, and unpacking daily deliveries.
- Deliver top-quality customer service and address escalated customer concerns effectively.
- Train, coach, and develop store employees to enhance performance.
- Handle cash management procedures and perform store opening and closing duties as required.
- Delegate tasks among team members and maintain a safe, clean store environment.
- Conduct regular employee performance reviews and provide constructive feedback.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and safety protocols.
- Maintain the standards of visual merchandising within the store.
- Participate in hiring decisions and manage employee performance.
Qualifications and Skills
- A minimum of two years of retail experience.
- At least two years working in a supervisory or managerial position.
- Availability to work various shifts including days, evenings, and weekends.
- Strong leadership abilities coupled with effective communication and decision-making skills.
- Capacity to multitask and prioritize duties in a dynamic retail environment.
