Job description
Role Overview
The Team Leader is an integral member of the management team, assisting the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager in managing the day-to-day operations of a retail store.
Key Duties
- Supervise and lead store associates while offering guidance and support.
- Manage store merchandising activities including shelf stocking and unpacking daily shipments.
- Ensure customer service standards are upheld consistently.
- Perform manager-on-duty responsibilities such as overseeing breaks, time, and attendance.
- Apply and maintain visual merchandising guidelines.
- Handle customer complaints and resolve issues promptly.
- Maintain store safety and cleanliness at all times.
- Conduct cash handling and execute store opening and closing tasks as required.
- Engage in inventory procedures and train new employees.
- Follow up on delegated tasks and participate in hiring and evaluating staff performance.
Qualifications and Skills
- At least one year of retail work experience.
- One to two years in a leadership or supervisory capacity.
- Demonstrated ambition for career advancement within the organization.
- Availability to work flexible hours including days, evenings, and weekends.
- Strong leadership and communication abilities.
- Capacity to prioritize effectively while managing multiple tasks in a busy environment.
