Role Overview

The Assistant Store Leader supports the Store Leader by providing leadership and supervision within the store. We are looking for candidates with prior supervisory experience and a passion for team leadership. This position offers full-time hours with competitive pay and opportunities for growth within the company.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee customer service initiatives, training, and coaching for all store staff alongside the Store Leader.
• Help maintain high employee retention by recruiting qualified applicants, developing leadership qualities, empowering the team, and enhancing productivity.
• Assist in executing merchandising and marketing programs smoothly within the store.
• Handle cash and fuel transactions accurately and encourage participation in the store's loyalty program.
• Ensure store cleanliness and safety by adhering to health and sanitation standards, keeping the product stock well-maintained and presentable.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Proven ability to lead teams and provide customer service support in a retail environment.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, coupled with strong interpersonal abilities.
• Familiarity with computer applications, preferably Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Capability to multitask and perform physical activities including bending, standing, reaching, and occasionally lifting items up to 50 pounds.
• High School diploma or GED is preferred; however, candidates with at least one year of retail management experience will also be considered.
• Valid driver’s license and maintenance of automotive liability insurance during employment.

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly wage for this position ranges between $18.00 and $24.25. Additional benefits include paid time off, health coverage, monthly bonuses, tuition reimbursement, and retirement plans (401k for US and RRSP for Canada). Premium pay applies for holiday work, and adoption assistance is available in the US.
