Role Overview

The Assistant Manager plays a crucial role in the day-to-day operations of a single Panda Express store by supporting hiring, managing, and guiding associates to meet financial targets and ensure excellent guest experiences. Successful candidates will undergo a leadership training program of at least three weeks to equip them with the skills needed for the role.

Primary Responsibilities

• Support store operations and ensure achievement of financial and customer service goals.
• Recruit, manage, and direct store associates to optimize performance.
• Participate actively in a hands-on paid leadership training program prior to full responsibilities.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma minimum.
• Flexibility to relocate to a store within 50 miles radius if necessary.
• Availability to work varied schedules including opening/closing shifts, evenings, weekends, and holidays according to business needs.
• Valid Serve Safe food safety certification.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

Employees frequently work in hot environments with steam and food vapors, often standing for prolonged periods. Tasks involve preparing hot/cold foods, using kitchen tools such as Chinese cook knives, and lifting up to 50 pounds. The role demands quick, accurate work in a noisy, fast-paced setting with limited storage and high shelving. Skills in verbal communication, adaptability to changing priorities, and conflict management are essential.
