Role Overview
The Assistant Manager at Tim Hortons supports the daily management of restaurant operations to meet the brand’s standards in people management, product quality, cleanliness, and delivering an outstanding guest experience. This role also contributes to driving revenue growth and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Help recruit, train, and develop team members while motivating them to meet targets.
- Provide continuous performance feedback and conduct regular performance evaluations.
- Support the Restaurant Manager in identifying and developing high-potential employees for advancement.
- Communicate effectively across shifts regarding operational priorities and challenges.
- Assist in implementing security measures to prevent theft and ensure safety for staff and guests.
- Contribute to financial planning, control budgets, maximize profits, and achieve sales and transaction goals including managing food, paper, and labor costs.
- Manage daily cash handling procedures and assist with financial reporting duties.
- Assist with supply ordering, facility maintenance, and cleanliness.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, health & safety, and employment regulations.
- Uphold Tim Hortons operating procedures and maintain superior guest service standards.
- Resolve customer complaints skillfully to enhance guest satisfaction.
- Participate in company-wide incentive programs.
- Optimize team scheduling to guarantee appropriate coverage and provide floor leadership, working operational roles during busy periods.
- Support a unified leadership approach alongside the Restaurant Manager.
- Follow occupational health and safety laws and use required protective equipment.
- Maintain safe work practices and immediately address unsafe conditions or acts.
- Report incidents, accidents, and any violations of health and safety policies to managerial staff.
- Lead employee adherence to safety policies and initiate disciplinary actions when warranted.
- Help investigate incidents, conduct workplace safety inspections, and assist with plans to enhance health and safety programs.
