Heavy Duty Cleaner

Overview

The Heavy Duty Cleaner will undertake comprehensive cleaning tasks involving hard floors, elevated surfaces using ladders or scaffolds, and waste management by transferring garbage from collection points to bins or compactors. This role requires operating cleaning machinery and maintaining cleanliness across various facility areas while observing safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform dry mopping, wet mopping (washing and scrubbing), and polishing of hard surface floors using handheld or walk-behind buffing machines.
• Manually or mechanically strip and refinish hard surface floors as needed.
• Transfer garbage from collection points to bins or compactors, operate compactors, and perform regular cleaning of these machines.
• Transport cleaning and maintenance equipment between floors and job locations.
• Clean glass sections accessible only by ladders, scaffolds, or extension tools.
• Wash, strip, and finish washroom floors.
• Clean stairwells and elevator interiors where ladder use is necessary.
• Wash walls and ceilings and dust ceiling light fixtures and fans.
• Utilize pile lifting equipment to rejuvenate specific carpet types and shampoo broadloom carpets using extraction equipment.
• Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations and company policies.
• Complete assignments given by supervisors efficiently.
• Replenish supplies in dispensers containing soap, towels, toilet paper, and sanitary items.
• Clear entrances and walkways of snow manually or with snow blowers to maintain safe access during winter months.

Candidate Profile

• Prior experience in cleaning or housekeeping roles is essential.
• Ability to understand and follow detailed oral and written instructions.
• Capability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
• Motivated self-starter with capacity to work independently.
• Strong focus on detail and excellent time management skills.
• Competence in operating various cleaning equipment is required.
• Physical fitness to perform job demands.
