Job Overview
A UKAS accredited consultancy is hiring an experienced and certified Asbestos Surveyor to join their busy team in Newcastle-upon-Tyne and surrounding areas across the North East of England. The role involves conducting asbestos surveys on a variety of domestic and commercial properties with opportunities for overtime, competitive pay, and professional development through training.
Responsibilities
- Perform asbestos surveys on domestic and commercial sites, including management, refurbishment, and demolition surveys.
- Safely collect samples from various sites for laboratory analysis.
- Prepare thorough technical reports detailing findings, associated risks, and recommendations.
- Serve as a key client contact to answer technical questions and provide expert guidance.
- Meet deadlines and achieve personal performance targets consistently.
- Comply with all safety requirements including appropriate use of personal protective equipment.
- Maintain a professional representation of the company at all times.
Qualifications and Skills
- Proven experience as an asbestos surveyor within a UKAS accredited organization.
- Holds BOHS P402 certification or RSPH equivalent.
- Strong understanding of HSG 264 guidelines and UKAS standards.
- Ability to create detailed and accurate technical reports.
- Capable of traveling within the defined geographical working area as required.
- Good literacy and numeracy abilities for thorough documentation.
Working Locations
Work involves travel to sites in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Hebburn, North Shields, South Shields, Whitley Bay, Gateshead, Consett, Stanley, Chester-le-Street, Washington, Sunderland, Houghton le Spring, Seaham, Durham, Spennymoor, Crook, Bishop Auckland, Darlington, Yarm, Thornaby, Hartlepool, Middlesbrough, Redcar, Guisborough, Stockton-on-Tees, Richmond, Catterick, Northallerton.
Additional Information
The position offers competitive salary ranging from £27,000 to £42,000 per year, along with training opportunities and benefits. The employer is also interested in candidates holding certifications such as P401, P403, P404, or S301 CCP.
