Overview

Join a dynamic team focused on delivering reliable service to customers in the Qatar Service Center. As an ARMO Welder II, you will collaborate closely with the cell leader to ensure compliance with Baker Hughes standards and organizational objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform welding repairs, grinding, blending, nondestructive testing (NDT), dimensional and inspection activities on gas turbine buckets, blades, and GT components.
  • Interpret and follow shop routing, work instructions, engineering drawings, and welding procedures (WPS) accurately.
  • Conduct visual inspections and spot dye penetrant inspections (DPI) on repaired areas.
  • Utilize measuring instruments effectively to verify dimensions.
  • Complete all necessary documentation including routers, job cards, labor reports, checklists, and forms with precision.
  • Work in coordination with cell leaders and engineers to ensure optimal operation of equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace supporting overall housekeeping.
  • Update digital shop systems with relevant data related to assigned tasks such as digital work orders, time vouchers, and operation completions.
  • Comply strictly with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) requirements and Baker Hughes policies and procedures.

Qualifications and Experience

  • High School certificate or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum of five years’ experience repairing gas turbine components.
  • Certified welder as per ASME IX or an equivalent standard.

Preferred Skills and Attributes

  • Proficient in performing dye penetrant tests and inspection techniques.
  • Deep knowledge of welding processes and gas turbine component repairs and assembly.
  • Skilled in the use of precision measuring instruments.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently with limited supervision.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn.
  • Team-oriented with excellent cooperation abilities.
  • Flexible with working hours and fluent in both written and spoken English.
  • Experience operating overhead cranes is an advantage.
