Role Overview

We are inviting an Architect to join our expanding Cairns office, aiming to strengthen our architectural influence in Northern Queensland. This role involves partnering with clients, diverse teams, and leaders across the GHD network. Whether you’re an emerging professional aspiring to grow or an experienced architect wanting to broaden your impact, this opportunity enables you to enhance your project portfolio, cultivate client connections, and guide the development of a growing studio.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and contribute to projects through every stage from conceptual design to completion.
• Work closely with architects, engineers, designers, and technical specialists to generate innovative and feasible solutions.
• Produce and oversee detailed architectural documentation leveraging Revit software.
• Apply design methodologies, construction knowledge, and technical skill to ensure successful outcomes.
• Engage actively in project scheduling, coordination, and execution activities.
• Build and nurture productive relationships with clients and other project participants.
• Mentor and support junior architects and emerging talent within the team.
• Advocate for sustainable design principles and explore fresh approaches to improve project and community results.
• Introduce innovative ideas to overcome project challenges and identify opportunities beyond project briefs.

Candidate Profile

• Possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture.
• Hold at least three years of architectural experience within Australia.
• Registered as an Architect in Queensland or eligible for registration through mutual recognition.
• Proven history of contributing effectively to design and project delivery.
• Strong design skills backed by sound technical and construction knowledge.
• High proficiency in Revit and architectural documentation preparation.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and relationship management capabilities.
• Experienced in balancing multiple priorities within multidisciplinary teams.
• Dedicated interest in sustainable design and ongoing professional growth.
• Proactive approach with confidence to think beyond briefs and identify new opportunities.
