Role Overview
The Architectural Drafter will assist the design team by generating detailed architectural and construction drawings across various projects including homes, commercial buildings, and interiors. Responsibilities involve developing comprehensive plans, sections, elevations, and detailed drawings, accurately translating design ideas into technical documentation, and updating drawings based on design reviews and onsite inputs. The role supports spatial planning, prepares documents for project approvals, and works closely with architects, designers, and coordinators to ensure design execution aligns with intent. This is a full-time, onsite position located in Chennai that requires frequent collaboration within the studio and coordination with external vendors and site personnel.
Qualifications and Skills
- Proficient in producing precise architectural and construction drawings compliant with project needs and building codes.
- Solid background in architecture and planning including spatial design, functional layouts, and regulatory knowledge.
- Experienced in technical drawings such as plans, elevations, section views, and detail illustrations.
- Skilled in CAD and architectural design software like AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, or equivalents.
- Educational credentials including a diploma or degree in Architecture, Architectural Drafting, or related disciplines.
- Detail-oriented with strong accuracy in documentation and ability to interpret design standards.
- Adept at teamwork, accepting feedback constructively, and managing deadlines onsite.
- Knowledge of construction materials, building methods, and interior detailing is beneficial.

This position requires the candidate to be physically present at the Chennai studio for effective teamwork and project coordination.
