Key Responsibilities
- Lead and assist in developing detailed environmental assessments and planning approvals across multi-disciplinary projects.
- Manage routine projects, working closely with stakeholders to ensure quality client experiences throughout project delivery.
- Collaborate with national planning teams, learn from experienced Technical Directors, and support the mentorship and growth of junior planners by providing guidance and motivation.
- Engage in proposal creation and identify business development opportunities while maintaining client relationships.
- Advance your professional growth through mentoring, training, participation in industry organizations, and involvement in GHD’s global technical groups.
- Contribute to GHD’s inclusive and supportive culture, maintaining flexible work arrangements to support work-life balance.
- Opportunity to apply or build expertise in community and stakeholder engagement by developing and executing consultation and engagement strategies.
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s Degree with at least eight years of environmental planning experience.
- Full NZPI membership or actively pursuing it.
- Strong technical planning background in regional/local councils or private sector, including infrastructure project consenting.
- Proven project management skills covering financial management, budgeting, and scheduling.
- Experience managing client relationships and contributing to business growth.
- Experience or aptitude in community and stakeholder engagement is advantageous.
- Excellent verbal and written communication capabilities.
- Proactive, decisive with strong problem-solving skills.
- Analytical thinker, self-driven, and energetic.
- Enthusiastic about collaborating with various technical disciplines to deliver integrated solutions on complex projects.
