Job description
Job Overview
The Application Engineer plays a vital role in assisting the sales team with applications of EPG products and managing projects effectively. The primary goal is to achieve project completion targets while delivering exceptional customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Review technical specs and draft technical and commercial proposals for projects, securing approval from the Sales Manager.
- Coordinate with the Application Support Center to acquire necessary technical data and assistance.
- Offer technical clarifications to customers and consultants to gain approval for technical submissions.
- Advise consultants and contractors regarding genset specifications and technical matters.
- Create technical specifications and package contents, ensuring all necessary approvals are obtained.
- Organize inspections and participate in testing at workshops on behalf of the customer.
- Manage equipment supply and project execution with cost efficiency in mind.
- Develop project scope of work for tenders and address technical and installation concerns with contractors.
- Oversee installation projects to ensure timely progress and compliance with quality standards.
- Conduct installation audits upon project completion.
- Collaborate closely with the head office technical team to resolve project-related technical issues.
- Facilitate smooth project handover and closeout coordinated with the Sales Manager or sales engineer.
Customer Engagement
- Identify customer requirements and provide tailored solutions to fulfill their needs.
- Support sales personnel by resolving customer technical concerns.
- Visit customer sites to gather technical details necessary for precise proposal development.
- Maintain strong, positive relationships with customers and consultants.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Between 5 to 7 years of relevant work experience.
- Strong technical expertise in power systems applications.
- Excellent communication and writing skills.
- High attention to detail.
- Experience working with major manufacturers is advantageous.
