Civil Engineer

Position Overview

We are looking to hire a Civil Engineer to join our Engineering & Consulting division, providing expert design, consulting, and technical advisory services. This position supports multiple types of projects including operational entities, institutional developments, and private sector initiatives by contributing expertise in structural evaluation, construction oversight, facility planning, and infrastructure design. It also offers technical guidance to the Operations team regarding civil engineering activities.

This role is suitable for an engineer early in their career, capable of independently managing deliverables and adapting to both office and field environments. The Civil Engineer reports directly to the Head of Engineering.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop civil engineering designs, perform calculations, and prepare detailed specifications covering structures, foundations, drainage systems, and site works.
• Conduct site assessments, feasibility analyses, and condition surveys for existing infrastructure and planned facilities.
• Provide expert technical consultancy on civil infrastructure elements such as tanks, wells, piping, building adjustments, and overall facility layouts.
• Support institutional developments by contributing civil engineering design inputs and acting as an owner's representative.
• Generate and review civil engineering drawings using AutoCAD, ensuring compliance with Saudi Building Code, municipal regulations, and project requirements; coordinate drawing production with drafting teams and maintain document revision control.
• Offer technical assistance to Operations for fit-out, renovation, and maintenance initiatives, including structural modifications and load-bearing evaluations.
• Review contractor submissions, shop drawings, and material documentation pertaining to civil works.
• Collaborate with MEP Engineers on multidisciplinary projects and coordinate with external engineering firms, contractors, and municipal bodies.
• Prepare detailed technical reports and assessments as directed by the Head of Engineering.
• Perform any other job-related duties reasonably assigned within the scope of this position.

Required Competencies

• Technical: Proficiency in structural design, foundation engineering, reinforced concrete detailing, and AutoCAD drafting.
• Familiarity with Saudi Building Code and local municipal standards.
• Capability to carry out site condition surveys and structural assessments of existing buildings.
• Practical knowledge of construction methods, materials, and site supervision practices.
• Soft Skills: Strong analytical problem-solving skills, effective communication abilities for technical reporting and non-technical presentations, keen attention to detail for precise calculations and drawings, and teamwork skills enabling cooperation within engineering and operations teams.

Language Requirements

• Fluent Arabic is mandatory.
• Proficient English is also required.

Job Particulars

• Field: General Contracting, Construction, Engineering Consultancy.
• Experience: 4-6 years in civil engineering roles including design, site supervision, or consulting within contracting, engineering consultancy, construction, or facility management sectors.
• Experience in structural design, facility evaluations, and construction supervision mainly in commercial or industrial environments is essential.
• Exposure to fit-out and renovation projects is advantageous.

Educational & Professional Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Registration with the Saudi Council of Engineers is mandatory.
• Professional certifications such as PMP or equivalent will be considered beneficial.
