Aircraft Mechanic – Engine Shop

Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Aircraft Mechanic to join our Engine Shop team based in Doha, Qatar. This role involves performing both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks on engines and APUs in alignment with the engine facility capabilities and specific work scope. You will be expected to maintain tools, observe strict safety and housekeeping protocols, and uphold the highest maintenance standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and BSI support tasks on engines and APUs as per the engine shop's capabilities and directives from engineers or supervisors.
• Develop full familiarity with assigned maintenance tasks, proactively seek guidance when encountering unfamiliar areas.
• Adhere strictly to the latest maintenance data and be proficient in accessing company documents related to engine maintenance.
• Follow all safety precautions detailed by manufacturers and company publications pertinent to engine maintenance tasks.
• Maintain assigned toolbox inventory accurately, ensure borrowed tools are returned post-shift, keep all equipment in serviceable condition, and report any tool damages following TPM procedures.
• Report any incidents or accidents promptly to engineering or supervisory staff.
• Comply with all engine maintenance SOPs and participate in toolbox talks organized by supervisors or engineers.
• Maintain exceptional housekeeping standards within the engine facility at all times.
• Support internal and external AOG (Aircraft on Ground) recovery efforts as assigned by Engine Facility Management.
• Perform additional duties related to your role as assigned by the department head.

Qualifications and Skills

• Possess a Diploma in Aircraft Maintenance, or relevant trade/vocational qualification, or a degree such as B.Eng. or BSc in Aircraft Engineering.
• Hold an ICAO Type 2 Basic license and have a minimum of five years of experience in aircraft maintenance, including apprenticeship.
• Experience working on Qatar Airways fleet engines is required.
• Proficiency in using Airbus and Boeing maintenance documentation.
• Hands-on experience with engine module removal and installation.
• Familiarity with borescope inspection support.
• Additional advantage if experienced with V2500, Trent 500, GE CF6-80E1, GE90, GENx, GP7000, or Trent XWB engine build-up and maintenance.
• Borescope support experience on V2500, Trent 500, GE CF6-80E1, GE90, GTCP 331-250/350, APS3200, GE Nx, and GP7000 is beneficial.
• Practical experience in the engine shop setting.
