AI Governance & Inventory Specialist

Overview

KPMG Jamaica hosts a delivery center called Jamaica Extended Support Services ("JESS") which supports KPMG United States from Kingston. This role focuses on developing and maintaining a centralized enterprise-wide inventory of AI-related assets. The specialist will lead efforts to identify, catalogue, and monitor AI systems, models, tools, and integrations by collaborating with various business and technical stakeholders to ensure robust governance and operational oversight.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and update a centralized inventory capturing AI systems, software, models, use cases, agents, integrations, and related technologies throughout the organization.
• Collect, verify, and organize essential information about AI systems to aid security, compliance, governance, risk management, and operational management.
• Work closely with departments including business, IT, security, privacy, legal, and risk to gather system details, clarify system ownership, document functionalities, and keep inventory current.
• Monitor important inventory fields such as business and technical ownership, use case descriptions, vendor/platform data, deployment environments, data classifications, model applications, integration points, and lifecycle stages.
• Detect data gaps, outdated entries, incomplete records, and unclear ownership, following up with stakeholders to enhance data quality and completeness.
• Generate reports, dashboards, status briefings, procedural documentation, templates, and metrics that support AI inventory completeness and promote responsible AI adoption across the enterprise.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline.
• At least two years of relevant experience in areas such as information security, technology risk, IT governance, data management, compliance, or business analysis within tech functions.
• Familiarity with platforms such as SharePoint, Power BI, Archer, ServiceNow, or similar tools for workflow, reporting, governance, risk & compliance, or inventory management is advantageous.
• Technical proficiency to understand AI-powered systems, software, cloud platforms, vendor services, data pipelines, integrations, and ownership models at a practical level.
• Excellent organization skills demonstrating capability to gather, structure, validate, and maintain intricate information across various systems and stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving abilities with capacity to handle ambiguous or partial information, identify issues, conduct stakeholder follow-up, and ensure completion with focus on data accuracy.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills, analytical thinking, independent judgment, and customer service orientation fostering teamwork.
• Project management skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to operate independently and collaborate well within teams.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Special Conditions

• JESS follows a hybrid work policy allowing employees to work from home or the office in Jamaica; attendance in office is required at least five days monthly, with potential for additional days as business demands.
• Use of KPMG-approved Generative AI tools is expected to augment daily work activities.
• This position operates in a dynamic and fast-paced team environment.
• The work environment is predominantly paperless, involving extensive use of information systems throughout the day.
• Occasional extended working hours or work on public holidays may be required.
