AI & Data Scientist – Smart Manufacturing

As an AI & Data Scientist in Smart Manufacturing, your work will focus on developing and deploying cutting-edge analytics, machine learning models, Generative AI, and Agentic AI solutions aimed at enhancing manufacturing quality, productivity, equipment reliability, and operational excellence across Agilent's worldwide manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities

• Build machine learning and statistical models targeting manufacturing and operational improvements.
• Analyze large datasets from production, inspections, engineering, supply chains to identify patterns and operational optimizations.
• Apply techniques like predictive analytics, classification, forecasting, and process optimization to address business challenges.
• Design, prototype, and evaluate AI innovations including computer vision and Generative AI to enhance workflows in engineering and manufacturing.
• Collaborate with software engineers to integrate AI components into digital manufacturing products.
• Support deployment and continuous monitoring of AI solutions in production environments, ensuring reliability and scalability with cloud platforms.
• Engage cross-functionally with teams in Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and IT to align AI initiatives with business value.
• Contribute to enterprise digital transformation and evolution of industrial AI capabilities through research and proof-of-concept projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Computer Science, AI, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field.
• Experience employing machine learning, statistical analytics, or AI problem-solving in research, academic, or industry contexts.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL programming languages.
• Strong analytical reasoning and problem-solving aptitude.
• Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration across diverse teams.
• Demonstrated enthusiasm for innovation and leveraging AI to solve practical business problems.

Preferred Skills

• Background in manufacturing or industrial analytics.
• Experience with computer vision techniques.
• Expertise in time-series data analysis.
• Familiarity with Generative AI and Large Language Models.
• Knowledge of cloud-based AI platforms and MLOps practices.
• Understanding of Industry 4.0 and Smart Manufacturing concepts.

Additional Information
