Overview
RAPSYS TECHNOLOGIES PTE LTD is recruiting a seasoned Senior Data Engineer to join their data engineering team in Singapore. This role demands extensive experience in Python, SQL, data architecture, data pipelines, cloud services, and contemporary data engineering tools. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, constructing, and maintaining scalable data systems that support analytics, data science, and digital applications. This is an on-site role limited to Singapore Citizens and Singapore PRs.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect, develop, and maintain scalable data architectures and pipelines for data ingestion, transformation, and delivery.
- Create robust data models and reusable data assets for use by applications, analysts, and data scientists.
- Ensure data systems are reliable, secure, observable, performant, and maintainable.
- Assess technologies and design approaches while contributing to enterprise data architecture standards.
- Apply modern software engineering methods such as automated testing, code reviews, continuous integration and deployment, and infrastructure-as-code.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineers, product managers, data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders.
- Provide technical leadership through design evaluation, mentorship, and knowledge sharing.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Solid foundation in software engineering with hands-on expertise in Python and SQL.
- Extensive experience in data engineering and enterprise data architecture design.
- Proven capability in creating data pipelines and building data models.
- Strong knowledge of Data Warehouse, Data Lake, and Lakehouse architectural paradigms.
- Experience with cloud platforms, ideally AWS.
- Familiarity with modern data platforms such as AWS Redshift, Snowflake, Databricks, or BigQuery.
- Proficiency with data orchestration, transformation, and modeling tools.
- Understanding of production engineering best practices including testing, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, troubleshooting, and ensuring data quality.
Preferred Additional Skills
- Hands-on experience with Apache Airflow or similar workflow orchestration systems.
- Usage experience of dbt or similar transformation and analytics engineering frameworks.
- Familiarity with Apache Spark and distributed data processing.
- Deep experience with AWS data services and cloud infrastructure management.
- Knowledge of BI tools like Tableau, Power BI, or their equivalents.
- Understanding of infrastructure-as-code, data observability platforms, metadata management, data catalogs, or data lineage tracking.
- Experience handling sensitive or regulated data environments.
