Role Overview

In the capacity of Agile Project Manager within CBS's IT Services Project Management Office (PMO), you will oversee the successful execution of multiple complex IT software projects from inception through completion. This role includes direct customer interaction and requires effective management of project scope, schedules, budgets, risks, and stakeholder relationships to ensure delivery of valuable business outcomes. The position is located in Sydney, Canberra, or Perth, reporting to the Manager PMO, and offers hybrid work opportunities with flexibility.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of various customer projects using Agile methodologies.
  • Manage project scope, timing, budgets, resources, and quality standards.
  • Handle change control processes to manage scope alterations and project variations.
  • Facilitate Agile events such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with customers and stakeholders throughout project lifecycles.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate risks, issues, and dependencies proactively.
  • Coordinate efforts among delivery teams, technical experts, and third-party vendors.
  • Provide regular project updates, dashboards, and status presentations at governance meetings.
  • Manage project change requests to ensure commercial impact control.
  • Keep precise forecasts, resource plans, and revenue projections updated.
  • Support smooth handovers from project closure to operational support teams.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate possesses extensive experience as a customer-focused project manager adept at steering complex IT projects in mid-market and enterprise areas. You excel at engaging stakeholders across all levels, adeptly balancing priorities, and navigating project challenges with a practical, result-driven mindset. Strong communication, ownership, and a passion for delivering excellent customer outcomes underpin your approach.

Key Qualifications and Experience

  • Seven or more years managing customer-facing, complex IT software projects.
  • Proven expertise in Agile, Scrum, or iterative project delivery frameworks.
  • Demonstrated stakeholder management skills, capable of influencing at various organizational levels.
  • Experience juggling multiple concurrent projects with competing demands.
  • Solid understanding of commercial factors including budget management, forecasting, and change control.
  • Proficient in risk, issue, and dependency management.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for reporting and presentation purposes.
  • Familiarity with project delivery tools like Microsoft Project, Azure DevOps, and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Competence in collaborating with technical teams, clients, vendors, and business stakeholders.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with an analytical approach to root-cause analysis.
