About the Role
Located in Abu Dhabi, UAE, this position calls for a seasoned Agent Runtime Platform Engineer with over 7 years of experience. The key objective is designing and constructing the core enterprise runtime environment tailored for AI agents and related applications. The position centers around platform engineering and demands thorough comprehension of agent engineering norms and deployment methodologies.
Role Responsibilities
- Engineer and design runtime frameworks for AI agents, MCP servers, APIs, as well as containerized services.
- Create runtime capabilities leveraging AKS, Azure Container Apps, Kubernetes, messaging queues, event systems, and cloud-native infrastructures.
- Develop reusable infrastructure blueprints and platform APIs to facilitate standardized deployment and administration of agent workloads.
- Define and maintain standards covering agent manifests, runtime settings, and tool specifications.
- Unify agent connections with models, MCP servers, and corporate APIs through defined standards.
- Implement established patterns addressing networking, identity management, and access controls.
- Craft paved-road templates, software development kits (SDKs), exemplar implementations, documentation, and onboarding processes for application teams.
- Guarantee production readiness by making agent workloads observable, scalable, secure, and resilient.
- Incorporate best practices for reliability, cost efficiency, deployment promotions, and operational readiness.
- Collaborate closely with AI Platform, AI Operations, Cybersecurity, Architecture, and Application teams to ensure seamless integration and alignment.
Required Skills and Experience
- Minimum of 7 years applied experience related to platform engineering and runtime environments.
- Proven hands-on expertise with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure Container Apps, Kubernetes orchestration, and container technologies.
- Deep understanding of networking concepts including workload identity, ingress management, API gateways, private connectivity, and secrets management.
- Strong familiarity with automation tools such as Terraform and GitHub Actions or comparable frameworks.
- Experience in crafting reusable platform modules, deployment templates, and environment-adaptive provisioning solutions.
- Working knowledge of AI agent architectures and the specifications for API and service contracts.
- Comprehensive grasp of security best practices, observability, system scalability, resilience, cost management, and deployment promotion protocols.
