Job Summary
This role involves leading contract administration, commercial management, and mitigation of contractual risks on airport development projects. The Senior Contract Manager will report to the Project Director and will be the main contact for all contract-related matters ensuring alignment with project goals and protecting the Employer's interests.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee all project contracts ensuring compliance with terms and project requirements.
- Interpret contract rights and liabilities, managing contractual correspondence and documentation systematically.
- Supervise change management, variations, claims including Extension of Time evaluations and related financial impacts.
- Evaluate contractor claims and develop positions for resolution while supporting negotiations.
- Identify and mitigate commercial and contractual risks; maintain risk registers and advise project leadership.
- Coordinate closely with project control, design, construction, commercial, procurement, and legal teams to resolve contract issues.
- Support procurement and tender evaluation processes, contract negotiations, and contract performance monitoring.
- Prepare comprehensive contractual reports, dashboards, and support governance and dispute resolution efforts including legal coordination.
Candidate Profile and Competencies
- Proven leadership in contract administration and commercial management on large airport or infrastructure projects.
- Deep knowledge of FIDIC, EPC, Design-Build, Item-Rate, Lump-Sum contracts and commercial risk management.
- Expertise in claims management, entitlement analysis, dispute avoidance, and negotiation skills.
- Experience with construction methodologies, project controls, delay analysis, and commercial impacts on contracts.
- Analytical and decision-making skills with high professional integrity and commercial judgement.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Law, Contract Management, or related field.
- Master’s degree or MBA in Construction, Contract, or Commercial Management preferred.
- Professional certifications in Contract Management or Quantity Surveying advantageous.
- 15-20 years of relevant experience with at least 10 years on airport projects involving terminals, airside, landside infrastructure under EPC or Design-Build contracts.
- Experience in PMC, EPC, Client-side, or Independent Engineer roles preferred.
