Senior Staff RTL Designer - NPU / AI Processor

About the Company

Qualcomm India Private Limited is hiring for an advanced role within their Engineering Group, specifically in Hardware Engineering. The position is focused on RTL design for DSP processors, requiring deep expertise in ASIC design flows and modern semiconductor technologies.

Role Summary

The role involves designing RTL for multiple logic units of a DSP core, covering all stages from RTL to GDSII. The candidate will engage across the design spectrum including synthesis, timing analysis, formal verification, and low power techniques. Collaboration with various teams such as physical design, power optimization, and verification will be essential.

Responsibilities

• Develop RTL code for various DSP core logic blocks.
• Execute and analyze results of frontend tools for lint checking, clock domain crossing, and synthesis.
• Coordinate with physical design teams to define design constraints and achieve timing closure.
• Collaborate with power teams to optimize design for low power consumption.
• Work alongside verification groups to formulate and validate test and coverage plans.

Required Skills and Experience

• 3 to 15 years of practical experience in RTL development using VHDL and/or Verilog.
• Proficient in functional and structural RTL design, design partitioning, and simulation workflows.
• Experience working closely with verification teams and regression testing.
• Familiarity with modern RTL languages and associated tools such as Modelsim, VCS, Design Compiler, PrimeTime, lint tools, CDC tools, UPF methodologies, code coverage tools, and SystemVerilog Assertions.
• Strong background in processor architecture and microarchitecture implementation (preferred).
• Experience integrating microprocessors and applying low power design strategies is highly desirable.

Educational Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related disciplines with 3+ years of hardware applications or design experience;
• OR Master's degree in the same fields with 2+ years of relevant experience;
• OR PhD with 1+ year of hardware-related work experience.
