About the Role

Join Qualcomm's Hexagon DSP AI team in Cork as a Senior Staff Hardware Verification Engineer. This role involves leading verification efforts for intricate processor designs, including CPUs, GPUs, DSPs, and AI accelerators that are integral to next-generation mobile, automotive, computing, and AI technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead verification activities for advanced processor, DSP, AI accelerator, and system hardware designs.
• Create detailed verification plans, testbenches, and coverage methodologies to assure functional accuracy and high-quality silicon output.
• Employ verification techniques such as constrained-random testing, coverage-driven verification, assertion-based verification, and formal analysis.
• Partner with design and architecture teams early in the design process to assess specifications and mitigate verification risks.
• Troubleshoot complex RTL and system-level problems using simulation, emulation, and formal verification tools.
• Develop reusable verification frameworks, automation, and IP to enhance team efficiency and scalability.
• Monitor coverage and verification metrics, guiding activities to closure across multiple projects.
• Drive enhancements in verification methodologies, tools, and processes.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• At least 10 years of hardware design verification experience.
• Proficiency in SystemVerilog, UVM, and modern verification methodologies.
• Experience verifying CPUs, GPUs, DSPs, AI accelerators, networking, or SoC designs.
• Strong understanding of computer architecture, microprocessor design, and digital fundamentals.
• Programming skills in C, C++, Python, or similar languages.
• Advanced debugging and problem-solving skills to identify root causes across various design layers.

Preferred Expertise

• Master’s or PhD in relevant technical disciplines.
• Experience with high-performance microprocessor or DSP architectures.
• Familiarity with Formal Verification techniques and tools.
• Knowledge of AI/ML acceleration, vector processing, or custom compute engines.
• Hands-on experience in emulation, FPGA prototyping, or post-silicon validation.
• Understanding of low-power and performance verification methods.
