Job Overview

Under direct supervision, the Write Up Inspector contributes to internal quality control by performing routine quality analysis, inspections, and tests as part of a standardized quality control program. This role involves monitoring and documenting adherence to established quality procedures, analyzing customer claims, and recommending procedural improvements. It is an entry-level position ideal for candidates with 1 to 2 years of relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out daily inspections and create accurate repair estimates for railcars, ensuring completion of detailed billing materials and regulatory compliance documentation.
• Review and validate estimate submissions for thoroughness and correctness.
• Incorporate any supplemental repairs into final billing estimates.
• Develop expertise in recognizing regulatory and customer-mandated repairs while maintaining familiarity with repair and estimation processes, industry certifications, and standards.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of experience in inspection or quality assurance roles.
• Strong safety record.
• Competency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Effective decision-making and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and time management abilities.
• Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining quality standards.
• Proven track record of delivering results.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge or experience with railcar repair techniques, including car construction, welding, blasting, coating, and familiarity with AAR and DOT rules and regulations is advantageous.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary for this role ranges between 65,475 and 80,025 CAD. The company offers a comprehensive benefits package that may include medical, dental, vision coverage, 401k matching, and additional benefits.
