Project Overview
The Ar Rjum Project is a greenfield gold mining initiative located about 200 km northeast of Taif and 26 km south of Al Mouwayh in Saudi Arabia’s Central Arabian Gold Region. It includes three open pit mines, processing plants, tailings facilities, infrastructure for water and power, maintenance, offices, and both temporary and permanent worker accommodations.
Role Summary
The Workforce Services Representative will be responsible for supporting the implementation and management of Workforce Services systems and compliance specifically for the Ar Rjum Project. The role primarily involves overseeing subcontractor workforce compliance, ensuring safety and welfare standards, and managing subcontractor employee relations for around 5,000 workers in a camp-based environment.
Main Duties
- Support the setup and management of all Workforce Services processes, frameworks, and compliance requirements specific to the Ar Rjum Project.
- Lead and guide contractor teams according to the project execution stages and planning.
- Monitor subcontractor adherence to labor laws, contractual agreements, welfare standards, and project rules.
- Facilitate workforce mobilization, onboarding, access permissions, and demobilization working with subcontractors and stakeholders.
- Maintain and audit workforce records and documentation for transparency and regulatory compliance.
- Foster positive labor relations by proactive engagement and resolving workforce issues with leadership support.
- Manage sub-functions of Workforce Services including camp services, workforce oversight, mobilization, and performance management.
- Collaborate closely with Construction, Environmental Health & Safety, Security, and Project HR teams for coordinated workforce delivery.
Qualifications and Experience
- Prior experience in Workforce Services, Industrial or Employee Relations within large construction or Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Management (EPCM) projects.
- Strong knowledge of subcontractor workforce models and compliance management.
- Proven ability to work efficiently in remote, camp-based settings.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Experience working in Middle Eastern or similarly regulated environments is highly preferred.
- Fluency in Mandarin Chinese is highly advantageous but not mandatory.
Working Conditions
The position requires residence within the project accommodation camp at Ar Rjum and occasional regional travel to support project and business needs.
