Job Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and lead process safety initiatives for global FEED and EPC projects in the oil and gas sector, addressing complex safety and risk challenges.
• Deliver critical process safety engineering outputs following established design criteria and approved procedures.
• Prepare, coordinate, and critically evaluate designs, technical studies, and engineering reports.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering efforts to ensure coherent design development while managing workload and project timelines.
• Review technical work of junior engineers and facilitate their professional development through mentoring and performance feedback.
• Serve as a subject matter expert supporting multiple projects efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Review and recommend design modifications ensuring compliance with process safety and loss prevention standards.
• Develop design bases for process safety, spill containment, and fire protection strategies.
• Generate conceptual designs, technical proposals, cost estimates, and resource planning inputs for project proposals and change orders.
• Design and verify fire water systems, including hydraulic demand calculations, P&IDs, layout drawings, and datasheets.
• Prepare and review fireproofing schedules, fire & gas detection system layouts, and cause & effect charts.
• Analyze fire water distribution networks using specialized software such as Pipenet.
• Plan and check hazardous area classifications and safety signage, including escape route layouts.
• Conduct various safety assessments including HAZID/ENVID, HAZOP, SIL, quantitative risk analysis, and consequence modeling.
• Supervise a small team of process safety engineers, supporting a collaborative and innovative work culture.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 10 years’ relevant experience in FEED and detailed engineering within refineries, petrochemical plants, gas processing, and utilities/offsite facilities.
• Proven technical expertise and leadership capabilities with strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Familiarity with international codes and standards, particularly NFPA.
• Hands-on experience with software tools including PHAST, CANARY, PHAPro, ExSILentia, and Pipenet.
• Experience on Middle Eastern projects, brownfield sites, and knowledge of Aramco, Royal Commission, or ADNOC standards is highly preferred.
• Background in reputable EPC companies is advantageous.
