About the Role
Join IAG, a leading insurer with over 165 years of history, as a Workers Compensation Underwriter based in Boorloo (Perth). You will take charge of managing an existing portfolio of brokers, underwriting renewals and new business while emphasizing proper risk selection and excellent service.
Key Responsibilities
- Underwrite workers compensation proposals for an established broker portfolio.
- Handle renewal processes, policy amendments, and related underwriting documentation efficiently.
- Respond promptly and accurately to queries from brokers and customers.
- Develop and nurture strong relationships with brokers and internal teams.
- Work collaboratively with Renewal and New Business teams to meet targets for growth, retention, and profitability.
- Use sound judgment for risk evaluation and pricing decisions.
- Partner with claims, credit services, and other internal functions to enhance portfolio performance and customer satisfaction.
Candidate Profile
- Experience or exposure in workers compensation underwriting is preferred.
- General insurance background is essential.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for relationship building.
- Team player with demonstrated collaboration skills.
- Strong negotiation abilities.
- Effective communication skills both written and verbal.
