Windows VMware Administrator

Position Overview

This role is for an experienced Windows and VMware Administrator based in Chennai. The position requires extensive expertise in managing virtualized environments and Windows server infrastructure within a Nutanix Hyperconverged Infrastructure (HCI) setting.

Primary Duties

• Administer and maintain Windows Server platforms alongside VMware and Nutanix virtualization and HCI systems.
• Set up and oversee Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and file and print services to ensure operational reliability.
• Implement security patching and vulnerability remediation on Windows servers as well as on VMware and Nutanix hypervisors.
• Manage WSUS servers for patch deployment to connected servers.
• Handle file server configuration and migration along with OS migration troubleshooting.
• Perform routine maintenance and upgrades on ESXi hosts and Nutanix HCI environments.
• Analyze and resolve performance bottlenecks at both the operating system and virtual machine levels during migration phases.
• Manage HP and Lenovo server hardware components including firmware updates.
• Operate and upgrade VMware VCenter environments.
• Configure virtual switches, network connections, and port groups to optimize network traffic within the virtualized infrastructure.
• Investigate and fix issues related to Nutanix Hyperconverged Infrastructure setups.

Required Experience & Qualifications

• 7 to 15 years of hands-on experience in Windows server and VMware administration roles.
• Demonstrated ability to manage Nutanix and VMware virtual environments.
• Experience in Active Directory, network services such as DNS and DHCP, and managing file/print servers.
• Strong background in patch management using WSUS.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting OS and VM migration issues alongside hardware and firmware management for HP and Lenovo servers.
