About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Welder Engineer to join our Tauranga port operations team. This hands-on position involves fabricating, maintaining, and repairing various heavy off-road machinery such as loaders, material handlers, and terminal tractors. The role is full-time, working Monday to Friday from 7am to 4pm at Tauranga Port.

Key Duties

  • Perform welding, fabrication, and repairs on port equipment and heavy machinery.
  • Inspect and replace worn attachments and parts to ensure operational safety and efficiency.
  • Contribute technical advice aimed at enhancing component durability and product quality.
  • Maintain a safe working environment and report any safety incidents promptly.

Candidate Profile

  • Holds an NZQA Level 4 trade qualification in Heavy Fabrication or an equivalent overseas certification.
  • Demonstrates solid experience working with heavy vehicles and machinery.
  • Able to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a small team setting.
  • Possesses a proactive and positive attitude towards tasks and challenges.
