Job description
Role Overview
The Warehouse Storekeeper at Miral plays a key role responsible for managing multiple tasks vital to efficient warehouse operations. Responsibilities encompass receiving incoming goods and materials, generating Goods Received Notes (GRNs), performing quality checks, and completing required documentation. The Storekeeper ensures proper storage of items, considering product types and temperature necessities such as freezers and chillers, and conducts regular stock audits to maintain inventory accuracy. The role spans various warehouse areas including Food, Beverage, Consumables, Merchandise, Technical Services, Direct departments, and Zoological sections.
This role involves timely and precise picking, cross-verification, and issuing of items for both internal departments and external clients. The Storekeeper maintains high standards of cleanliness, complies with food safety (HACCP) regulations, and generally enforces warehouse safety. Additionally, the incumbent is responsible for upkeep and regular inspections of warehouse equipment and machinery, ensuring all operate properly.
The position requires physical strength and stamina due to frequent lifting, manual handling, and working under different conditions, such as inside cold storage or outdoor zones. Flexibility to work various shifts including nights, weekends, and public holidays as operational needs demand is also necessary. Trustworthiness is essential to safeguard company assets valued in millions, with strict control over inventory shrinkage and adherence to company rules and procedures.
Operational Responsibilities
- Manage opening and closing checklists.
- Maintain chemical storage, cleaning, and temperature checklists for freezers, chillers, and dry storage areas.
- Inspect equipment such as forklifts, electric pallet jacks, weight scales, thermometers, and ladders regularly.
Receiving Operations
- Verify that received goods correspond to the invoice, delivery note, packing list, and approved purchase orders (3-way match).
- Perform quantity inspections on all deliveries and shipments.
- Check expiry dates, temperatures, and weights of deliveries, including cafeteria staff meals.
- Confirm receipt through warehouse stamps and signatures.
- Store items in designated locations with proper shelving.
- Apply barcodes on maintenance items, upload photos in Maximo, and update inventory locations in Eatec/Maximo systems.
- Conduct physical verification of deliveries.
- Inform end-users of received goods via email.
- Handle internal/external GRN requests, Return to Vendor (RTV) requests, credit notes, delivery rejections, and import shipping documents for VAT claims.
- Monitor and manage replenishment of 5-gallon water bottles.
Issuance Operations
- Issue items based on system requisitions, work orders, and material requests.
- Handle manual requisitions for direct department orders.
- Update requisitions with expiry dates for products with less than three months shelf life following FEFO principles.
- Maintain bin cards reflecting quantities issued and related documentation (excluding Food & Beverages).
- Verify issuances with end-users.
- Manage inter-site and fruit/vegetable transfers.
- Submit RTV requests approved by entity leaders.
- Confirm dispatches with warehouse stamps and required signatures.
Inventory Operations
- Conduct cycle counts for maintenance and merchandise items, processing results in inventory systems.
- Perform periodic counts for Food & Beverage, consumables, guest services, operations, and zoological items, updating systems accordingly.
- Provide inventory count sheets for entity leadership review prior to submission to Inventory Control.
- Alert end-users about expiry checks via email.
General Operations
- Manage temporary storage for other departments, obtain approvals for special storage needs, and issue items with approved documentation.
- Ensure compliance with HACCP and ADFCA standards, maintain cleanliness and order, and restrict warehouse access to authorized personnel only.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification required.
- Minimum of one year experience in warehouse operations or supply chain management.
Knowledge and Skills
- Proficient in English communication.
- Basic skills with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
