Job description
Role Overview
This position, based in Cedar Drive, Dublin, involves working as a warehouse operative reporting directly to the National Handling and Transport Manager and indirectly to the Warehouse Team Lead. The schedule covers Monday to Thursday from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM, and Fridays from 2:00 PM to 2:00 AM, with Saturdays and Sundays as rest days.
Main Responsibilities
- Participate in and sign off daily cleaning tasks within the warehouse environment.
- Maintain open, proactive communication with team members and supervisors, promptly reporting any issues or deviations.
- Label freight for both import and export operations accurately.
- Load and unload domestic and international shipments, marking manifests and reporting discrepancies or damages immediately.
- Complete all necessary warehouse documentation related to operational activities.
- Ensure daily clearing of bins and uphold good housekeeping standards.
- Coordinate loading of road export vehicles on Saturdays and complete weekly inventory reconciliation.
- Manage ordering, stock control, and upkeep of warehouse supplies and equipment.
- Monitor daily health and safety practices within the warehouse and report any concerns.
- Support customer and quality audit activities as needed.
- Administer control of the bonded warehouse for DHL Global Forwarding.
- Collaborate closely with the Yardman for efficient trailer capacity and lane control management.
- Print import/export manifests and trailer check sheets for each load and ensure accurate documentation of any discrepancies with proper signatures.
- Ensure prompt submission of all paperwork and manifests to the operations team.
- Adhere strictly to health and safety guidelines and wear appropriate personal protective equipment as per company policy.
- Maintain compliance with revenue, international trade, data protection legislation, and DHL policies including Health & Safety, Quality, Environmental, and Human Resources.
- Contribute to operational processes consistent with Good Distribution Practice (GDP) standards related to Life Science business requirements as necessary.

Skills and Qualifications
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience within a cross docking warehouse environment.
- Possession of a Leaving Certificate or equivalent educational qualification.
- Essential to have counterbalance forklift operating skills; holding an external counterbalance forklift license is preferred.
