Warehouse Operative

About the Role

DHL Global Forwarding, Freight (DGFF) specializes in air, ocean, and road freight, delivering standardized and tailored end-to-end logistics solutions across various industries globally. We currently have an opening for a Warehouse Operative in Dubai, UAE to support effective warehouse operations, including forklift and material handling, inventory control, and ground logistics activities aligned with corporate policies and strategies.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive goods under supervision, sorting, labeling, and optimizing storage space efficiently.
• Verify shipment items against documentation, inspect for damages or defects, and update inventory records as per procedures.
• Maintain correct routing and transportation of materials between departments.
• Pack goods for shipment conforming to specifications and transport methods.
• Log and monitor incoming and outgoing materials to ensure accurate inventory management.
• Complete order fulfillment according to customer demands.
• Retrieve stored data, process orders, and respond to inquiries about inventory and delivery schedules.
• Address recurring delivery issues through established processes and systems.
• Perform repetitive packaging, consolidation, and sorting tasks.
• Operate gas or electric forklifts under supervision to move and stack materials, including loading items into storage racks.
• Process documentation related to shipments and support the use of scanners for handling shipments.
• Arrange daily pick-ups and dispatch information timely and efficiently.
• Maintain and operate forklifts and other equipment daily ensuring safety and efficiency.
• Assist with administrative duties related to shipment processing, documentation, and customer payments.
• Respond to basic customer service queries related to shipment tracking and misplaced items.
• Stay current with equipment operation methods and obtain necessary certifications for material handling equipment.

Interaction and Reporting

• Communicate organizational policies, practices, and facts clearly following defined guidelines.
• Collaborate mainly within the immediate team, resolving task-related issues professionally to maintain positive work relationships.

Leadership

This is a non-supervisory role without direct managerial responsibilities.

Candidate Profile

• Education: Vocational, specialized, technical certification, or equivalent.
• Work Experience: Less than two years in relevant fields.
