Role Overview
As a Video Editor at The STEC Project, based onsite in Kano, you will be responsible for assembling raw clips, choosing optimal takes, and editing videos following project guidelines and brand standards. Daily duties include trimming and arranging footage, incorporating transitions, audio, and visual effects, performing color corrections, and adding motion or static graphics. The position requires coordinated collaboration with producers and videographers to refine concepts, sustain quality consistency, and meet deadlines. Managing multiple projects and organizing media assets efficiently while optimizing output for various platforms and viewers is essential.
Qualifications
- Proficient skills in video editing and production to create cohesive visual narratives.
- Competence in video color grading to enhance and unify visual styles.
- Experience with motion graphics and graphic integration like titles and lower thirds.
- Familiarity with professional editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve, alongside basic audio editing tools.
- Capability to work onsite in Kano, communicate creative and technical ideas clearly, and collaborate well within a team.
- Strong attention to detail, effective time management, and multitasking ability for various project deadlines.
- Relevant education, training, or demonstrable experience in film, media, or related fields, with a portfolio or showreel regarded highly.
- Understanding of diverse video formats and social media platform standards for content optimization and delivery.
