Job description

About Codasip and Role Overview

Codasip is at the forefront of redefining computing through secure, cyber-resilient semiconductor architectures. Our vision includes embedding security from the ground up in next-generation processors and systems. As part of our strategic pivot, we are actively expanding our teams to innovate and deliver architecture-first security solutions, focusing on clean-sheet processor designs based on RISC-V technology.

This role is based in the UK, preferably at our Bristol or Cambridge design centres, and is open only to candidates currently residing in the UK with appropriate working rights. This opportunity offers a chance to work on cutting-edge CPU designs, including high-performance out-of-order processors, within a highly collaborative global environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Verify RISC-V processor cores and extensions, ensuring functional correctness and reliability.
  • Create and maintain verification solutions such as test benches, stimulus generators, and formal verification environments.
  • Engage in end-to-end verification activities for design components and subsystems, encompassing strategy definition, implementation, and delivery.
  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to align verification processes and share insights.
  • Review technical specifications critically to provide feedback relevant to verification challenges and opportunities.
  • Execute simulations to identify defects, perform root cause analysis, and facilitate resolution.
  • Manage your own workload by defining, estimating, prioritizing, and tracking verification tasks and metrics.
  • Develop and optimize automated verification flows to improve efficiency and coverage.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Professional experience in applying processor functional verification methodologies, including but not limited to use of simulators, test generation, coverage metrics, and gate-level simulation.
  • Knowledge and prior involvement in verifying CPU architectures or other IP blocks.
  • Proficiency in programming and scripting languages such as SystemVerilog, Python, C++, and Rust with ability to write clear and maintainable code.
  • Experience with Linux operating systems to automate common verification tasks.
  • Familiarity with version control systems like Git or SVN.
  • Strong understanding of the RISC-V architecture and general computer system architecture principles.
  • Analytical mindset combined with effective collaboration skills to work across teams and troubleshoot complex verification problems.

Work Environment and Company Culture

Our UK design centres in Cambridge and Bristol focus on pioneering high-performance, low-power RISC-V CPU cores from scratch. Working here means contributing to transformative technology suited for applications ranging from supercomputers to embedded systems. The role emphasizes ownership, innovation, and high-quality standards within a diverse and international team.

Additional Information

  • This position is exclusively for candidates with legal work authorization and current residence in the UK.
  • Employment status: Full-time, primarily onsite at one of the UK design centres.
