About the Role
The Product Security team at MongoDB seeks a senior full-stack software engineer to develop and enhance advanced security tools that enable MongoDB engineers to deliver secure products to customers. This role focuses on engineering scalable security automation solutions that incorporate modern AI techniques and improve security integration early in the software development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop features for an automated code analysis platform.
- Enhance security findings triage and verification across all MongoDB products.
- Automate the process of managing security findings to enable self-service for engineering teams.
- Create a centralized security signal analytics platform to prioritize critical security tasks.
- Design and build tools to embed security practices earlier in development workflows.
Required Qualifications
- Over five years of professional experience developing production software using Python and TypeScript in cloud environments.
- Proven ability managing full software lifecycle, from development through deployment and operation at scale.
- Experience with microservices architecture, Kubernetes orchestration, and containerization.
- Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, including linting, testing, and deployment strategies.
- Independent task prioritization and execution skills aligned with team goals.
- Demonstrated history of solving complex problems and delivering significant projects.
- In-depth knowledge of building AI agents.
- Excellent verbal and written technical communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Fundamental understanding of security concepts such as threat modeling, secure code review, and vulnerability management (CVE).
- Familiarity with C++ or Rust programming languages.
- Experience designing and running systems that safely execute untrusted code, employing container/sandbox isolation and least-privilege credentialing.
- Knowledge of NoSQL databases or experience in database development.
