With an emphasis on integrating security directly into processor designs, the company is expanding its portfolio of secure, CHERI-enabled technologies. This exciting phase involves clean-sheet designs and growing engineering teams committed to shaping secure computing innovations.
Role Overview
As a Design Verification Engineer, you will be responsible for verifying RISC-V processors and related extensions, ensuring robust functionality through comprehensive verification solutions including test benches, stimulus generators, and formal verification environments. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams handling all verification aspects of components or subsystems from conception to delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement verification frameworks for processor designs.
- Collaborate with engineers to manage verification tasks and outcomes for specific blocks and subsystems.
- Define and apply verification strategies using appropriate tools and methodologies.
- Analyze technical specifications and provide verification feedback.
- Execute simulations, identify bugs, and conduct root cause analysis for complex issues.
- Manage, prioritize, and track personal work assignments and verification metrics.
- Develop automated verification processes to improve efficiency.
Required Skills and Experience
- Hands-on experience in functional processor verification methodologies applied to CPUs or ASICs, including simulators, test generation, and coverage collection.
- Knowledgeable in CPU architecture verification or other intellectual property verification.
- Proficient in coding with SystemVerilog, Python, C++, or Rust, with the ability to write clean, concise code.
- Experience taking ownership for verification of specific design blocks.
- Familiar with Linux environments for task automation.
- Experience with version control systems such as Git or SVN.
- Understanding of the RISC-V architecture and strong computer system architecture fundamentals.
- Strong analytical thinking with effective collaboration across teams to diagnose and resolve design issues.
Location and Team
This full-time position is based preferably at Codasip’s UK design centers in Bristol or Cambridge, hubs driving innovation for high-performance RISC-V CPU development. You will join an international team of expert engineers pushing the boundaries of CPU core design for advanced applications in supercomputers and embedded systems.
Additional Information
Important Note: Candidates must currently reside in the UK and have working rights within the country to be eligible for this role.
This is an excellent opportunity for self-driven engineers eager to be part of a collaborative environment shaping cutting-edge CPU and cyber-resilient computing technologies.
