Position Details

We are seeking a full-time, permanent Vehicle Technician at our Battersea Volkswagen location. The role includes 40-hour workweeks Monday to Friday (8:30am - 5:00pm) plus rotating Saturdays (8:30am - 12:30pm). The position reports directly to the Aftersales Manager who provides ongoing guidance to ensure you have the necessary tools for success. Key Responsibilities

• Perform pre-delivery inspections on new and used vehicles following manufacturer protocols.
• Conduct manufacturer guideline-compliant vehicle checks and fittings of additional customer-requested accessories.
• Carry out comprehensive vehicle health checks and identify any required further maintenance.
• Inspect vehicle lighting, tire pressure, mechanical and electrical systems.
• Execute minor repairs and basic mechanical and electrical diagnostics.
• Provide routine servicing aligned with manufacturer and customer specifications.
• Undertake authorized repairs, including warranty work per manufacturer standards and documentation.
• Conduct road tests to verify all issues are resolved.
• Maintain thorough and accurate paperwork for all service activities.

Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate holds at least an NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or an equivalent qualification, and has relevant motor industry experience, whether in a dealership or independent environment. A full and valid UK driving license is required. Candidates should be self-driven, collaborative team players, ambitious, keen to learn, and dedicated to maintaining high standards in their work. While brand-specific experience is advantageous, training will be provided, as will support for diagnostics, MOT, and EV technologies if not previously acquired.

Compensation and Benefits

The basic salary starts at 37,000 annually with the opportunity to earn up to 44,320 through productivity and time saved bonuses. We provide competitive salaries with clear pay scale progression. Additional perks include:
