Role Overview

The Vehicle Estimator position involves closely reviewing and improving vehicle repair estimates for quality and accuracy. This role requires assessing vehicle damage, calculating labor and parts expenses, coordinating with various stakeholders such as technicians, insurance adjusters, and customers to facilitate smooth repair processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect damaged vehicles to identify all repair needs.
• Generate precise repair estimates utilizing estimating programs like Audatex or BDQ.
• Engage with customers to present damage assessments, repair alternatives, and associated costs.
• Work with insurance companies to secure necessary repair authorizations.
• Collaborate with part suppliers and technicians to ensure repairs are efficient and cost-conscious.
• Maintain thorough documentation of all estimates, repair orders, and correspondence.
• Keep customers regularly informed about repair progress and timelines.
• Ensure estimates conform to both industry regulations and company standards.
• Conduct final inspections post-repair to verify quality and completeness.
• Perform timely final account reconciliations.
• Provide training and mentorship to less experienced estimators.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Proven history as an Autobody Repair Estimator.
• Expertise in the Audatex estimating software is mandatory.
• Familiarity with the Autoflow Bodyshop management system is advantageous but not essential.
• Competent in vehicle systems and collision repair methodologies.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
• Capacity to thrive in a dynamic, fast-changing environment.
• Possession of a Class B clean driving license.
• Preferred technical training or certifications in auto repair or estimation.
• Minimum of five years’ experience in vehicle estimating, collision repair, or associated areas.
• Proficiency with Sage software is also beneficial.
• Skillful at interpreting insurance policies and repair procedures.
