Role Overview

The role of UX Engineer is a hands-on individual contributor position within a rapidly growing Product and Engineering team, embedded in an Agile environment. This position bridges user experience design with front-end development, enabling ownership from concept through production-ready code. Collaboration with Product Managers, UX Designers, Software Engineers, and stakeholders occurs in iterative sprint cycles to craft accessible, high-quality user interfaces for the SaaS platform.

Key Responsibilities

• Design intuitive and user-focused experiences for both web and mobile apps.
• Engage with cross-functional teams to interpret user needs and deliver elegant UX solutions.
• Develop user journeys, wireframes, interactive prototypes, mock-ups, and pixel-perfect UI designs.
• Create and maintain reusable front-end components leveraging modern JavaScript frameworks.
• Ensure accurate implementation of designs collaboratively with development teams.
• Contribute to and uphold design system standards and UI component libraries.
• Advocate best practices in accessibility, usability, responsive design, and inclusivity.
• Conduct user research, usability evaluations, and analyze feedback to enhance user experience continuously.
• Utilize AI-powered design and development tools to boost productivity and quicken design iterations.
• Participate actively in Agile ceremonies throughout the software development life cycle.
• Remain knowledgeable on current UX trends, emerging technologies, and front-end best practices.

Candidate Requirements

• A minimum of three years' experience in UX Engineering, front-end development, product design, or related fields.
• Proven track record in designing and implementing modern web applications.
• Deep understanding of UX methodologies including interaction design, information architecture, and visual design principles.
• Proficiency with wireframing, prototyping, user flow creation, and delivering high-fidelity designs using tools such as Figma or equivalents.
• Strong experience with React and modern JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks for front-end development.
• Knowledge of responsive design concepts and modern UI frameworks.
• Experience working with component-driven design systems.
• Familiarity with accessibility standards like WCAG and comfortable applying inclusive design practices.
• Background in collaborating within Agile, cross-functional teams.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
• A portfolio showcasing UX design and front-end development achievements.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in UX Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, Digital Design, or related domains.
• Experience with SaaS platforms and products.
• Knowledge of React Native and mobile-centric design approaches.
• Familiarity with established design systems including Material Design or bespoke enterprise systems.
• Experience with development operations tools such as Azure DevOps, Git, and continuous integration/deployment pipelines.
• Hands-on experience utilizing AI-assisted design/development tools like Claude Design, Copilot, or Figma AI.
• Understanding of design tokens, accessibility testing, and strategies for optimizing front-end performance.
