Role Overview

As a Utility Locator, you will receive comprehensive paid training on safety protocols and locating techniques, working alongside experienced locators to identify underground utility lines. You will operate detection equipment, document findings with digital mapping tools, and play a vital role in ensuring safe and efficient construction projects.

Responsibilities

  • Learn and apply utility locating methods and safety procedures
  • Understand local utility infrastructure and compliance regulations
  • Collaborate with senior locators to mark underground utilities
  • Operate locating equipment proficiently
  • Record and report findings using digital tools
  • Work outdoors under varying weather conditions

Requirements

  • Minimum age of 18 years
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States for this employer
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent relevant experience
  • Valid state driver’s license (non-provisional) with an acceptable driving record

Physical Demands

  • Frequently work independently in remote areas
  • Perform physical tasks including arm elevation above shoulder level, bending, stooping, standing, walking, lifting up to 55 pounds, and using computer peripherals
  • Occasionally use portable ladders, access confined spaces, and climb stairs

Compensation

The pay range for this position is $20 to $22 per hour.
