Role Overview

We are seeking a confident and decisive Soiled Sorter for our Skokie facility. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, be committed to measurable performance standards, and eager to pursue continuous improvement.

Primary Responsibilities

• Sort linen items on conveyor belts according to size and type: large items like bath blankets, flat sheets, draw sheets, and thermals by one attendant.
• Second and third attendants manage mid-sized pieces such as underpants, patient gowns, and fitted sheets.
• Fourth and fifth attendants focus on smaller items including bath towels, washcloths, hand towels, and scrubs.
• Maintain quality standards concerning soil sorting and cart sanitation.
• Follow and comply fully with all established safety protocols and company policies.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Capability to work effectively in a noisy, fast-paced environment.
• Physical stamina to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, reach, and stack items from the machine for extended periods.
• Demonstrated organizational skills and customer service orientation.
• Strong interpersonal communication abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent educational certification.
• One to two years of relevant experience in healthcare, manufacturing, or similar sectors.

Physical Demands

• Tasks require standing, walking, reaching overhead, bending, twisting, pushing, pulling, grasping, and lifting items weighing 50 pounds or more.
• Ability to maintain these physical activities through the entire 10-hour work shift.
