Role Responsibilities
- Identify and accurately mark underground utilities such as telecom lines, electric, cable TV, gas, water, and sewer systems safely and efficiently.
- Conduct comprehensive searches within assigned zones, properly marking utility locations, completing all necessary documentation, and capturing photographic proof of each locate.
The role involves independent fieldwork utilizing a company vehicle with advanced ticket and claims management tools. Work schedules often include daytime hours but may require overtime, weekend shifts, and on-call duties including nights and holidays, reflecting a commitment to a 48-hour turnaround standard.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Capable and willing to work outdoors under diverse weather conditions; prior outdoor work experience is beneficial.
- Comfortable using technology and digital tools related to the job.
- Available to work additional hours including weekends and on-call periods as operational demands dictate.
- Must clear a drug screening due to safety-sensitive nature of the position.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is mandatory.
- Physical fitness to work in confined spaces and handle lifting up to 75 pounds, plus ability to perform activities such as bending and walking.
- Ability to differentiate colors used in utility markings and wiring identification.
- Skillful in reading and interpreting locate tickets, maps, and technical prints.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with colleagues, clients, contractors, and homeowners.
Compensation
The position offers a competitive hourly wage of $20.00.
