ELM Utility Services employs over 1900 professionals across the country and is currently recruiting a Utility Locate Technician in Lakewood, Washington. Our technicians play a crucial role in their communities by ensuring the safety and reliability of gas, electric, and communication infrastructures through precise and reliable utility marking, which prevents excavation-related damages.

Role Overview

Utility Locate Technicians work independently using company-provided vehicles as mobile offices to complete assigned routes of locate requests daily. They utilize advanced technology through the LaunchPoint software to efficiently manage their tasks.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform accurate and safe location and marking of underground utilities with paint, flags, and other marking materials.
• Utilize mobile systems to receive and complete daily assignments.
• Operate company vehicle provided with fuel card and cell phone, starting work directly from home.
• Participate in on-call rotations and overtime, including nights and weekends as needed.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Must pass pre-employment drug screening, Motor Vehicle Record check, and background check.
• Comply with Federal Department of Transportation (DOT) safety regulations; marijuana use (medical or recreational) is prohibited.
• Hold a high school diploma or GED and be at least 18 years old.
• Possess a valid driver's license.

Compensation and Benefits

• Starting wage ranges from $24.50 to $32.00 per hour depending on experience.
